Free concerts at the Carmel Valley Library
Enjoy a range of wonderful musicians and performers at the Family Music Series. These free concerts are open to all and a great neighborhood outing!
For the evening concerts, we recommend that families with young children bring a quiet activity to occupy their child and sit close to an aisle in case you need to take your child out of the room during the concert.
The Friends of the Carmel Valley Library present a monthly concert free and open to the public. Concerts are presented on the last Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm. Concerts last one hour and take place in the Community Room, 3919 Townsgate Drive, San Diego, 92130.

Musica Vitale

Under the direction of Elena Vizuet, this ensemble introduces the music of women composers Hildegard von Bingen, Amy Beach, Nadia Boulanger, and Grammy-nominated Lori Laitman in a program titled ” Celebration of Women in the Arts.” Artists include San Diego Opera singers Michael Sokol and Lisa Parent, accompanied by pianist Olena Galytska.

Duo Folias

Carmen Maret, flute & Andrew Bergeron, guitar
Folias Duo is the celebrated pairing of Michigan-based flutist Carmen Maret and guitarist Andrew Bergeron. With over two decades of collaboration, they are renowned for their seamless fusion of classical, jazz, world music, and improvisation. Their original compositions, inspired by life on the road and the beauty of the natural world, transport audiences through vivid musical storytelling. This performance will feature highlights from their newest release, inspired by the Great Lakes.

Harold Reeves, violin, & Justine Tiu, harp


Reeves, a San Diego native and founding member of the San Diego Music Group, has performed alongside members of the celebrated Emerson Quartet. Tiu, a Southern California harpist who has graced stages from Seattle to Savannah, recently served as Visiting Principal Harp of the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra. Together they will perform a program as varied as it is beautiful, drawing on the genius of Debussy, Bach, Saint-Saëns, Paganini, and Piazzolla — a sweeping arc from Baroque elegance to Argentine passion, with a few surprises along the way.
